The Thief of Time (1988) is one of the best named of the Hillerman mysteries. Though centering in Chaco canyon, it stretches from southwestern Utah to just west of Santa Fe NM, and so is NOT easy to map out! You can really imagine how many tanks of gasoline were needed for Chee's car! Even more interesting is the general subject of pottery theft and the more recent arrests in Utah (2009). Not much changes among the 'time thieves'!
