WALNUT CANYON NMJust east of Flagstaff and south of I-40, ancient indian ruins in a beautiful setting. Quick to get to.
METEOR CRATERAbout 40m east of Flagstaff along I-40, where a massive meteorite hit planet earth. Ouchie, ouchie! Private park but high quality.
DEAD HORSE RANCH SPJust a bit northeast of Cottonwood, off of old 89A. Great place for birding and just strolling and enjoying nature.
FORT VERDE SHPGo back to the 1800s for this old army fort, now a state park. Re-enactments each year but be careful. They're serious!
