Home / Quilting & Crafts
The Verde Valley is a retiree haven, and much fun to be had quilting, crafting, and socializing! Sedona, Cottonwood and Flagstaff each have good quilting / sewing stores and you might ARRANGE your travel 'appropriately'. Stopping in and chatting is a nice way to learn about the area and people who live here. Also, there is much to be learned from native american weaving and pottery. Combine it all and who knows?!

ADDITIONAL NOTES
BG Bead Garden BEAD GARDEN 150 West 89A Suite D (928) 282-7334
Nice beading shop ... also see their site: MORE INFO

CC
CLEAR CREEK TRADING CO. This is on the edge of Uptown across from the Art Center. It looks like a tourist 'curio' store, but if you go in the rear, you'll find two rooms full of interesting 'stuff' ... beading, leather, buttons and on and on. The store primarily sells from the Sioux tribe (good beading) but also includes materials to support ceremonies and so forth. Worth a visit. 435 N 89A 928-204-4406.

CR
CRAFT and decorating stores. This varies from time to time on Jordan Rd near uptown in Sedona. If you're in the area, you might see what's available.

FLAG
FLAGSTAFF. If you're headed up there, ODEGAARD'S SEWING CENTER on 19 W Aspen is good. The owner is nice and also knowledgable about sewing machines. The store is downtown, one street over from hwy 89A. Old downtown Flagstaff is also interesting; they have an old Babbits western store! If you need fabric etc, there's Jo Ann's Fabric in west Flagstaff (1514 S Riordan Ranch St north of the Target), and Hancock Fabrics (1926 N 4th St.) MORE INFO

IA
IMAGINE ART. Honestly, this is NOT quilting! But if you love crafting, how can you resist. It's on 90 Brewer Rd near Tlaquepaque (walkable), right next to Hummingbird House (a 'must see'!). You select a piece of pottery, and paint it. They bake it. All VERY inexpensive AND fun! Plus such an old home-towny area. 928-4236 Open 9-5pm except Mondays closed.

JE
JEROME. Good for finding little things to decorate your home or add to your sewing and crafts. The road along where the small historical museum is (keep your husband busy), is best. Also some good deco-stores down at the 'Y' where the road splits. There's a neat store for hiking down there too!

PR
PRESCOTT. Visit QUILT N'SEW CONNECTION at 6546 Second Street Suite A in Prescott Valley(928)775-9580. Prescott Valley is just east of Prescott and 'just over the mountain' from Sedona and Cottonwood. So, if you're headed up to Jerome for a little sightseeing, you can just 'slide' right down the other side for some great quilting! MORE INFO By the way Prescott Valley also has a Cloth Plus Fabrics store at 6479 Copper Hill Dr.

OT
COTTONWOOD OLDTOWN. On Main St near the river (Main St is where 89A turns left toward Jerome; Old Town is where Main goes north (old 89A) and curves around going west. Be patient! The stores in this area vary from time to time, but it's worth a visit for eclectic art as well. Some of the Verde Valley's most popular restaurants are in this area. If you keep going west, you end up in old Clarksdale and then up to Jerome.

QG
Quilting Gallery QUILTER'S STORE SEDONA & GALLERY 3075 W Hwy 89A. This is pretty near the edge of west Sedona on the left before you leave town. Really nice store and the owner goes to a lot of trouble to make it worth your while. If your husband wants to stay busy, there's a bookstore further down at the corner of 89A and Dry Creek Rd! MORE INFO

QQ
Quilters Quarters QUILTERS QUARTERS & BERNINA TOO 51 Verde Heights Dr This is on the far west side of Cottonwoord on SH89A. It's EASY to see. Large assortment and new building. Recommended. The ladies there are quite helpful and you'll enjoy browsing. Check out the dollhouse! 928-634-8161 Open 9-5pm Mon-Fri, Tue til 8pm, 9-4pm Sat MORE INFO

SADDLEROCK CONSIGNMENT Basha's shopping center at Coffeepot Rd and 89A. Who knows what's in there this week! But quality is great!. They also have another store nearby ... get directions! For your hubby, there's an interesting auto parts store right down the sidewalk. Which, by the way, both Ace Hardware's in West Sedona on 89A and VOC on SH 179 always have odd but useful items!

VOC
VILLAGE OF OAK CREEK OUTLET CENTER. This is on the south end of the Village, if you're looking for some good buys. Across on the other side further south is the forest service visitor center, which is good.

WLM
QUILTERS' MERCANTILE. If you're headed back to Vegas (huh?) or going to take the really fun Grand Canyon Train in Williams, you should make a quick stop over in downtown Williams. Old Route 66 and some quilting fun! They're downtown on the 'east-bound' old-66 (versus the 'west-bound). Williams is not exactly big! Q/M is a sister store of JonAli Sewing Center in Lake Havasu AZ (2097 N McCulloch Blvd., Ste A Ph:928-854-2002 MORE INFO).

WM
WAL-MART SUPERCENTER. Located south-east of the SH 260 and Hwy 89A interesection going toward Cp Verde. You'll pass the Home Depot and later a big GM dealership first. Nice shopping atmosphere, so get everything else you need!
