VILLAGE AREA AND JEROME (MAP)

Once you get outside of Sedona 'proper', quite often you can get find a 'nugget' and some really interesting artists, especially in Jerome. Takes some driving though!

TREASURE ART GALLERY 2855 Hwy 179 First art gallery by Steven Juharos in 1961. It's still operated by his wife and still great western paintings. It'll be just on the edge of the Sedona city limits near Back O'Beyond. Worth a stop and easy if you're heading into Sedona.

JEROME!
Here, you just can't stop noticing the Verde Valley below and the old mining town buildings saved by artists and residents back when the mines closed. Weekends are busy, so if you can, weekdays are a much better choice. There's a large central parking area, plus along the streets.
DOWN NEAR THE 'Y': (MAP)
Angels Inn Gallery Jewelry. You'll love it!
American Landscapes Large format high-resolution pictures whose colors just jump at you. Right under the Flat Iron Cafe upstairs (great coffee!). If you're of the male persuation, there's also an interesting little store next door specializing in hiking and mining gear.
Jerome Artists Cooperative Gallery If you don't have much time, or an unenthusiastic mate(!), at least visit here. Great quality and you really feel next to the artists. MORE INFO
Knapp Gallery This is near the Flat Iron going up. Really nice wall sculptures. Drop in after your coffee!
UP NEAR THE TURN: (MAP)
Jerome Gallery Here, there's smaller items and a lot of good decorative ideas. Across the street on the corner, don't miss the English Kitchen. Some good history and on warmer days, a really nice view. On the main street above, the Red Rooster Cafe and Mile High Grill are both good. MORE INFO
Raku Gallery Two levels. Very good quality and a broad mixture of pieces. You'll also pause a few minutes to view the Verde Valley! MORE INFO
Spirit Art Gallery This one's not too obvious, on the first floor, below street level. Interesting wall art though quality varies.

OLD JEROME HIGH SCHOOL (MAP)
For sure, don't miss this place. It's the BIG building on your way up to Jerome's business area. Lots of parking. If you're in your more 'mature' years, it'll bring back memories. The old buildings have artist studios, many of which are open to you. Each year they also have an 'open house' which is really great.

If you like brass, cross the street for the Mountain Spirit Gallery. Really good brass work and done on-site (some days, demos up near the gallery area).
